I have a confession to make.

I HATE.HATE. Farming on a priest. Especially as a heal-y priest. It’s like Holy Fire, Smite, Smite, Smite, Smite, Smite, oh bai mana, wand, wand, wand… oh look. 1 mob is dead. >.<

WTB the ability to kill multiple things at once plz.

whew. I feel better now. Unfortunately raids can be expensive. Especially on a new server where I don't have access to people who will make me things for crazy cheap (aka Mr Tart's Shaman making me my raid Flasks for the low low price of my enchanting his gear for free when he got upgrades. I still think I was the winner in that deal) and most importantly, I don't have my Paladin. Who I rolled and leveled with Skinning and Herbing to be Tart's workhorse. She's still only 74 though, but she's so easy to level. The only thing stopping her from being 80 is my lack of time, which hopefully will change soon so I can get her to 77, get her epic flying and move her to darkspear so Tart isn't a broke priest anymore.

Because really? Farming on a priest sucks yo.

So yesterdays extended, extended, extended, extended maintainence killed any hopes of playing that I had last night. Which really sucked as it was raid night, and we were hoping to power through as much of Ulduar as we could so that we could get a few more attempts at yoggy this week.  (side note: where has @yoggsaron been lately? I’ve missed his plushie MADNESS AND INSANITY on twitter lately)

So instead I did all those things that get pushed aside on raid nights: made a dinner that took longer than 15 minutes, watched a little TV, read, worked on some posts for my personal blog that is just getting started, and caught up on my reader among other things. My server(s) finally came up about 9-9:30ish PST, which meant that I had time to log in, do a daily or 2 and head to bed. >.<

At least the realms should be good to go tonight so Dueg can take SS’s of me tasting the floor and I can heal our butts off  in Ulduar.

So this weekend I was severly infected with Alt-itis. After deciding that I would need to server transfer my paladin to Darkspear so that she can continue to be the farmbot for my priest (which was why I created her in the first place!) I was told in no uncertain terms that I needed to level up another toon asap so that I could continue the fun and random “AMG I NEED HALP!” runs for some friends on Dunemaul. (OH HAI T/Mal/Kelig!) So I looked at my roster:

34 Mage? Naaah, Mr. Tart has one of those that’s already 75 so that would kind of be redundant.

22 Warrior? Naaah, We have both an 80 prot warrior and a 75 arms warrior in our group of friends.

2 Druid? Though it has an AMAAAZING name (tartformer!! c’mon it’s funneh!) nahh, Mr. Tart already has a decked out feral druid in it’s 70s.

62 DK? Naaah, We already have a DK in our group make up as well.

1 priest? ANOTHER one?! she shall be my random pet project if people start demanding bubbles.

72 Warlock? Hm. Would be a strong contender if she wasn’t on a different server due to stupidity. and my love/hate relationship with her.

8 Shaman? WINNAR! Mr Tart doesn’t usually like taking his uber geared out resto shaman to be healbitch for our alt runs. which leaves us usually scrambling for a healer (unless we can sucker Kelig into have Kel volunteer to run on his disc priest) plus, wolves look really really fun. and TOTEMS!  (and it fits my master plan to eventually have all healing classes at 80 with a healing offspec if not their main. yes I’m that crazy)

So in other words, the Shaman is now just shy of 20, and leveling with Mr Tart’s bebeh rogue. I made her inscriptions and am using one of our Alt guilds to front my glyph business on her. (since at 40 she’ll have to dual spec resto so that I can play healbot when needed)

And apparently since I have an obsession with organizing guildbanks and keeping them cleaned out of random stuff. YES LIKE LEVEL 15 WATER TANYA! I have been nominated to play the AH game for no less than 3 friends’s personal gbanks. for a percentage of the fees of course. :D

So it’s been a weekend. 3 days of pretty much uninterrupted WoW time, so I figured I would be in need of an update.

Well my transfer to Darkspear is complete and I was welcomed with open arms to < NEED A DISPENSER HERE > by Holy Dueg and Co. I,  like Duegels,  forgot to grab a screenshot of our combined sexiness. I am enjoying myself immensely at the moment. I also got to halfway through Honored with the Sons of Hodir as well as having my first 25 man Ulduar run! I got to help kill Freya and Mimiron (who was a fun fight, even if I was practically crying all the way through it). And now for the Achievement spam ;)

As for Tartdarling the pally:

She hit 74 finally (I’ve been told that I need to be 80 by this weekend for the heroic running, but I don’t see that happening lol) and she ran Naxx eer, Kara… yet again (the gold you make in that place with only 5 people and no real deaths is amazing.) Apparently my tankadin has master the art of the Levitate SS. Now if only I would have remembered to pop wings for it too!

As you may have been able to tell from the title, Tartshapdbox is no longer a member of CoS. Though the story itself is rather amusing. As most everyone knows, I was out of town for 4 days. Since I was with friends and family and had a ton of stuff planned for my birthday I made the decision not to bring my laptop as I wouldn’t have much play time. I let people know that I was going out of town, and since Hubby was in the guild too, he told everyone that I wasn’t there and had no wow access for a few days.

So I get back home and realize ‘damn. We have NO food in the house’ I love hubby to death but he’s not the best person to send to the store without a detailed list or it’ll be ‘hello random microwavable crap!’ Anyways, I inform him that we NEED a grocery store run if we intend to eat anything at all this week or if we plan on cleaning anything or drink anything other than tap water. He tells me that he is helping a friend of ours power level his warrior, and that we’ll head out after he’s finished running ramps. So I decide to jump on my baby shaman and test out the new heirloom shoulders I sent her before I went on vacation. I log in and check the roster. 22 people on. I think to myself oh this is not going to be pleasant. I see the “PST for raid invites!!!!” go out, and I continue killing crawlers. And the invite spam goes out again. And I see this:

GM: Jo! Stop dicking around on your warrior and heal Ulduar25

Jo: I can’t today. I have class in 2hours. And tbh, I’m getting a little frustrated with the “progression” we are doing, so I’m going to sit out before I overstep my bounds. I don’t want to make people mad at me again.

AN: Jo is notorious for being 1. An amazing tree. 2. Having a crazy temper and doing his best to keep it in checks. Dying to too many void zones will make you incur his wrath. Also, RE: “progression” – we’ve been doing Ulduar 25 since it dropped. The guild has only ever dropped FL with no towers. NO ONE ELSE. NOT EVEN XT. >.>

GM: well, we are a progression guild. Get used to wipes.

Jo: Oh I’ve wiped plenty, and done progression before. But no progression because people can’t pay attention? There is no excuse for people to stand in shit and not move, I’m sorry.

AN: At this point I remember thinking oh my, this is not going to be fun. Jo is a good friend of hubby (Day) and I.

/O Day: Wow, guys really? REALLY?

/O GM: Well he didn’t want to raid and we apparently aren’t up to his standards so let him find a new guild.

/O Day: He didn’t say we weren’t up to his standards. He said people are dying too much because they don’t pay attention and they stand in the fire and that’s why we can’t progress. And it’s true.

/O GM: Who stands in the fire?! You are an officer if you see a problem CORRECT IT.

/O Tart: Um, GM? Last time I tried to correct a problem everyone ignored me. You yourself told me that worrying about where you are standing is the “DPS’s job, healers don’t have to worry about that stuff” so I quit saying anything.

/O Z (our MT): Well it’s not like you or Day have raided with us the last few weeks so you don’t even know how the progression is going.

AN: Day missed 1 Ulduar run. 1. SINCE 3.1 came out. And that was 1 25man. He’s been to all of the 10s as well.

Day has left the guild.

/O Tart: I HAVE TO WORK. I can’t exactly be like ‘um boss guy who doesn’t like me much? I can’t work late at all right now. I have progression raids and my guild is going to get butt hurt because you know WoW > RL.’

/O Z: Well you need to figure out a way to make raids. And show more commitment to helping the people in guild get better.

Random Guildie: Wow… we are downsizing huh?

Z: It’s been a long time coming. He wasn’t that good of a healer anyway.

AN: Day is normally first or second on meters (which they judge by) and if he’s second it’s only to Jo. Insert my temper and my trying to remain calm.

GM: yeah, we need to clean up the guild of the people who don’t want to be in here and just want a free ride to loot and don’t want to put in the work.

AN: Jo, Day and I wiped with them for Months on KT in Naxx. And I still don’t have any loot from the bugger. Temper has hit the enrage and I’m hovering over the leave guild button, but I want to see where this goes.

/O GM: So Tart are you going to do Ulduar with us tonight?

/O Tart: I can’t. I just got back from out of town and we have no food in the house, and I just got off work and would like to eat. I’m only on for a minute so that Day could finish helping Jo in Ramps.

/O GM: So… why don’t you just call and have something delivered so you can raid?

/O Tart: Because I need to go to the store. We have like old milk and mayo in the fridge. That’s it.

The Moral of the Story kids? Don’t go out of town or need groceries. It just might earn you a gkick.

The Moral of the Story if you are GM? Don’t kick 3 of your top healers and most popular members, especially if you are already having attendance issues in guild. We just might take 17 of your members with us and reform. Oh and of those 17 members? 4 were healers, 5 were officers and 4 were class leaders. <3

Hello again!

Sorry for the lack of updates, but work and life have been rearing their ugly heads again. That and a little bit of the burnout have contributed to my backing off WoW for a little bit. But just to let everyone know that I am still alive, here I am! Let the updates begin!

Tart, the Priest:
– Still has only done 5 bosses in 10man Ulduar. I actually have not been back in Ulduar since the great ignoring incident. I figure if they don’t want to listen to a girl’s input then they can wipe. Repeatedly.

-Bought her Dual Spec! And because I am a selfish wench, she is specc’d PvE Disc and PvP Disc (Go Go Arenas!)

-The Arena Team has finally been kicked off. Im running 2’s with an Unholy DK. So far the team work is there, we’re not getting roflstomped like I thought we might, though our rating is really low at the moment since we’ve only had time for 20ish games. Though I suppose it really won’t matter if I decide to switch servers now that I think about it. Meh, there will always be PvP/Arenas and 800+ resil Disc Priests are fun :D

Tart the Pally,

-Is now 72, almost 73. She’s only almost done with Howling Fjord, and barely started in Borean Tundra.

– She has however successfully tanked: UK, Nexus, Kara!, Magister’s Terrace, Heroic Magisters Terrace, and semi-tanked ZA. :) Go Go having friends who are willing to raid random old shit! (and see why I’m hesitant to transfer le priest?!)

Things I have discovered:
– Dunemaul’s options for raiding guilds SUCK unless you are willing: to raid with total and utter douchbags, sacrifice any semblance of a life to raid 12hours a day, want to have no progression in Ulduar.

– Kara is fun if you haven’t been in there in months. Especially when you are running it semi-at level.

– Those blueberries in Kara that blow up when you kill them? Letting the dps DK randomly pull them and killing them all at once kills you if you aren’t 80. >.>

-ZA bosses will still wipe 80s that haven’t been in there.

-Farming old 10man raids? Fantastic Gold Maker.

Aaaannndd I think that’s about it. I’m heading to California this weekend, so no WoW for me. I should be updating here or on my personal blog (link coming once I finish getting the site how I like it!). Until then, remember, Bubble save lives, so love the bubbles.

As anyone who has been following me on twitter knows I’ve been caught in the midst of guild drama. Being the only female class lead and only hardcore raider minded female officer (there is 1 other female officer, but she’s more of an officer by length of time in the guild than anything else) in a somewhat Boy’s Club guild is proving to be more of a challenge than I expected. Being ignored on vent, totally passed over for any input on strats/tweaking of fights for progression/overall input is starting to drain me. My desire to raid is gone and I am spending less and less time on my priest and trying to find excuses to be on other characters more and more.

So what’s a girl to do when WoW stops being fun? Hide in a friend’s vent server with non-drama buddies and roll alts of course! So I present to you the screenshots from my weekend of shirking officer responsibilities:

Here’s to remembering why I play this game, and learning that even though I’m an officer, I am not bound to one character, especially if I am not being treated with the respect I deserve simply because I am a girl.

So, with 3.1 landing tomorrow (or today depending on your time zone!) I figured I would give a proposed build for Disc PvE with all of the changes, and a mini glyph guide :)

Discipline – 56 points:

Twin Disciplines (5/5) – Increases the damage and healing done by your instant spells by 5% – Yay! Increased healing is always good.

Improved Power Word: Fortitude (2/2) – Increases the effect of your Power Word: Fortitude and Prayer of Fortitude Spells by 30% and increases your total Stamina by 4% – Since Fort is the priest buff people always cry for, it makes sense to take the improved version. And if it makes me slightly less squishy in the process then I’m all for it.

Improved Inner Fire (3/3) – Increases the effect of your Inner Fire Spell by 45% and increases the total number of charges by 12. – 45% moar Spell Power? Yes pls.

Meditation (3/3) – Allows 50% of your mana regeneration to continue while casting. – More mana regen (while casting even!) is always good. Especially with the changes to mana regen.

Inner Focus (1/1) Instant Cast, 3 minute Cooldown – Reduces the mana cost of your next spell by 100% and increases it’s critical effect chance by 25% if it is capable of a critical effect. – Yay! Free Spells!

Improved Power Word: Shield (3/3) – Increrases the damage absorbed by your Power Word: Shield by 15% – Bubbles are <3. Stronger bubbles = more <3

Absolution (1/3) – Reduces the mana cost of your dispel magic, cure disease, abolish disease and mass dispell by 5% – Ok, so honestly I would skip this talent if I didn’t need 1 point to get into the next tier. Plus any reduced mana cost is good right? I mean there is BOUND to be stuff to dispell in Ulduar. But this is really a personal preference on how many points to take.

Mental Agility (3/3) Reduces the mana cost of your instant cast spells by 10% – Woot. Lower mana costs are always good.

Mental Strength (5/5) – Increases your total intellect by 15% – More Int = More crit and more mana returns from rapture. :D

Soul Warding (1/1) – Reduces the cooldown of your Power Word: Shield ability by 4 seconds and reduces the mana cost of Power Word: Shield by 30% – This is a new one talent but a good one. This means that there is no cooldown on Shields, you just have to look for the Weakened Soul debuff. Finally. I always thought the PW:S cooldown was annoying at best.

Enlightenment (3/3) – Increases your total spirit by 6% and increases your spell haste by 6%. – I would honestly rather this increased Spell Power or Int or really anything other than spirit since spirit really only improves out of combat mana regen, but hey 6% haste is nice!

Focused Will (3/3) – Increases your spell critical effect chance by 3% and after taking a critical hit you gain the Focused Will effect, reducing all damage taken by 4% and increasing healing effects on you by 5%. Stacks up to 3 times, lasts 15 sec. – So this is another of those PvPish disc talents. I took it because I liked the free crit chance, leaving me a little more flexibility in gearing.

Power Infusion (1/1) Instant Cast, 2 min Cooldown – Infuses the target iwth power, increasing spell casting speed by 20% and reducing the mana cost of all spells by 20%. Lasts 15 seconds – This has become one of my favorite spells. Whether it’s helping out a DPS who is low on mana or giving myself the extra boost if no one else needs it or for long fights.

Renewed Hope (2/2) Increases the critical effect chance of your Flash Heal, Greater Heal and Penance spells by 4% on targets afflicted by the Weakened Soul effect, and you have a 100% chance to reduce all damage taken by 3% for 20 seconds to all friendly party and raid targets when you cast Power Word Shield. – Wow. go go bubble? Seriously though, raid wide 3% damage reduction just for bubbling someone? Amazing.

Rapture (3/3) – When your Power Word: Shield is completely absorbed or dispelled you are instantly energized with 2.5% of your total mana and you have a 100% chance to energize your shielded target with 2% total mana, 8 rage, 16 energy or 32 runic power. This effect can only occur once every 12 seconds. – Ok, so not quite as good as Rapture is currently, but that should still be nice. Plus it should end the warriors and their “Don’t shield me” bitching :P

Aspiration (2/2) – Reduces the cooldown of Inner Focus, Power Infusion, Pain Suppression and Penance spell by 20% – A must for any Discipline Priest. 20% reduction on your cooldowns is amazing.

Divine Aegis (3/3) – Critical heals create a protective shield on the target, absorbing 30% of the amount healed this effect stacks up to 125* the target players maximum level. Lasts 12 sec. – The fact that this stacks now is so awesome. No more worrying about your heals overwriting or anything like that. And at 80, it will absorb 10,000 damage, take that Spike damage!

Pain Suppression (1/1) Instant Cast 3 minute cooldown – Instantly reduces a friendly targets threat by 5%, reduces all damage taken by 40% and increases resistance to dispel mechanics by 65% for 8 seconds. – I love being able to use this on tanks now. Back when threat was a huge issue, this was really only used on yourself when things got crazy and Fade was on cooldown, but this spell has saved many a tank on Sartharion with Drakes. Not to mention saving many an anxious DPSer.

Improved Flash Heal (3/3) – Reduces the mana cost of Flash Heal by 15% and increases the critical effect chance of your Flash Heal by 10% on friendly targets at or below 50% Health. – <3. That’s all I can say. I use Flash Heal lots and am a fan of Flash Heal spam to get people up quick, so the increased crit just feels like win.

Grace (2/2) – Your Flash Heal, Greater Heal and Penance (Heal) Spells have a 100% chance to bless the target with grace, increasing all healing recieved by the preist by 3% This effect stacks up to 3 times. The effect lasts 15 seconds. Grace can only be active on 1 target at a time. – Hmmm, I’m not too sure how I feel about the change to grace. I really liked the damage reduction before, but I guess I’ll take the increased healing for my throughput.

Borrowed Time (5/5) -Grants 25% Spell haste for your next spell after casting Power Word: Shield and increases the amount absorbed by your shield equal to 40% of your SP. – WTB more haste? :D

Penance (1/1) Channeled 10 second cooldown – Launches a volley of holy light at the target causing 375 holy damage to an enemy or 1484 to 1676 heal to an ally player instantly one every 1 second for 2 seconds. – What can I say. It’s Penance. This spell is the reason people go Disc. (ok… maybe not but it’s a reason they stay disc!)

Holy – 15 points

Improved Renew (3/3) – Increases the amount healed by your renew spell by 15% – This is another of the person-by-person spell picks. I took it just for the added oomph to renew since I think it will be a nice filler for heals, even though I don’t toss it around TOO much now.

Holy Specialization (5/5) – Increases the critical effect chance of your holy spells by 5% – Moar Crit Plox.

Divine Fire (3/5) – Reduces the casting time of smite, holy fire, heal and greater heal by 0.3 seconds – I don’t tend to toss around GHeal all that often but I figure I’ll take the lesser time when I can.

Desparate Prayer (1/1) Instant 2 minute cooldown – Instantly heals the caster for 3716 to 4384. – AMG. I love love love love love this spell. It has saved my ass sooooooo many times.

Inspiration (3/3) – Increases your targets armor by 25% for 15 seconds after getting a critical effect from Flash Heal, Greater Heal, Binding Heal, Penance, Prayer of Healing or Circle of Healing. – A must if you will ever ever ever heal a tank.

Glyphs – I’m going with but I’ve listed them all for reference and opinions :) The underlined ones are the ones I’m leaning towards using.

Major Glyphs

Glyph of Dispell Magic – Your Dispel Magic spell also heals your target for 3% of their maximum health – I tried this one when WotLK first launched. I was unimpressed.

Glyph of Fade – Reduces the Cooldown of Fade by 9 seconds – Meh. I don’t fade THAT often now.

Glyph of Flash Heal – Reduces the mana cose of your Flash Heal by 10% – Idk about this one. Flash Heal could be a crazy cheap spell to cast with this and the Improved Flash Heal talent, but I’m not sure the added 10% is worth it when there are so many other good glyphs now.

Glyph of Holy Nova – Your Holy Nova spell heals for an additional 40% but deals 40% less damage. – I use this glyph currently, and it’s turned me into a Holy Nova fan. Right now I can get 2k-3k heals on my party with Holy Nova for only 800 mana, with the reductions in mana coming with patch it could really be an effective spell.

Glyph of Hymn of Hope – Your Hymn of Hope lasts an additional 2 seconds. – I think this one will depend on how the mana changes really affect healing. A time will tell glyph maybe?

Glyph of Inner Fire – Increases the armor from your Inner Fire by 50% – good for PvP?

Glyph of Mass Dispel – Reduces the mana cost of Mass Dispel by 50% – Meh. I still think there could be better glyphs.

Glyph of Pain Suppression – Allows pain suppression to be cast while stunned. – YAY GO GO PVP.

Glyph of Penance – Reduces the cooldown of penance by 2 seconds – OMG YES

Glyph of Power Word Shield – Your Power Word Shield also heals the target for 20% if the absorption amount – <3 this is my favorite glyph atm.

Glyph of Prayer of Healing – your Prayer of Healing spell also heals an additional 20% of it’s inital heal over 6 seconds – This could be handy with Prayer of Healing raid wide now, but the HoT is a little underwhelming for me as it is now. 200 a tick? might as well renew… but I’m not a Theorycrafter so opinions?

Glyph of Renew – Reduces the duration of your renew by 3 seconds but increases the amount healed each tick by 25% – an awesome glyph if you are a renewer

Minor Glyphs

Glyph of Fading – Reduces the mana cost of fade by 30% – Again with the not using fade much. Maybe I just have an awesome tank? I haven’t had too much trouble with healing aggro lately.

Glyph of Fortitude – Reduces the mana cost of Power Word Fortitude & Prayer of Fortitude by 50% – Since I cast this a lot it’s a definite for me.

Glyph of Levitate – Your Levitate spell no longer requires a regent – YAY! I use levitate soooo much more now that I don’t have to worry about having feathers.

Glyph of Shackle Undead – The range of your Shackle Undead spell is increased by 5 yards – Umm yay if you’re in Kara? :P

Glyph of Shadow Protection – Increases the duration of your Shadow Protection by 10 minutes – meh. if you use it alot it’ll save you some candles.

Glyph of Shadowfiend – Recieve 5% of your maximum mana if your fiend dies from damage – Yay. Because that little bastard dies a lot. At the wrong times
